The DRL's need to basically be the highbeams at half power.
Oh damn! So this is the Gary you guys are talking about. Haha. I'm too stupid to figure that out.

If its 50%, then that should be no problem. Probably will look better in the day than just high beams.

Thanks!

I'm going to have to look into the kits we have installed. As I recall, most of them run the low beams when the engine runs. Factory stuff runs the highs at half power but that would be more difficult to do, as it requires running the high beams in series. Certainly not impossible, but more time consuming to set up.

In 1990, the first year of DRL's in Canada, the low beams came on. This of course ended up using a bit more energy and running the low beams all the time shortened the time interval between bulb replacements. 1991 was when they switched to half power high beams. As you have HID's, bulb life should not be an issue, nor should power consumption. If it were my car I'd likely run low beams for DRL's. Legally, as long as something visible is lighting up in the front, you're covered for DRL's (there's probably a minimum wattage requirement which won't be an issue.)

I'll check on the price of the kit for you. I'll also look at the wiring diagram and try to figure out what I'd have to charge to run half power high beams instead...
