Going to buy a Jeep
I have decided to purchase my neighbors 1990 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Colin purchased a new Rubicon and decided to part with his Cherokee in which he has had for 15 years. It has many extras including beefed up suspension with a slight lift, aftermarket wheels with grippier tires, tow package and a nice CD stereo system. Colin is very involved with the local Jeep enthusiasts and they do a fair amount of "fun" offroading. This Cherokee is setup for being a solid daily driver plus a serious off-roader. What have I got myself into ?
Check the maintenance records, especially the fluid changes in the 2 diffs and the transfer case. These are often times neglected. I've seen old Cherokees with lots of seal leaks - valve cover gaskets, head gaskets, rear main seal, etc.
