Default Headlight Covers

I'm looking at getting some vinyl covers for my headlights to protect them from rock chips and other shit on the road. Does anyone have any experience w/ such an item? I've read that some people have had issues w/ headlights cracking after they have the protectors installed. Is there a particular brand that causes the cracking or is this just ?

I was thinking Lamin-X. There are many brands like 3M, Stoneguard and Lamin-X...

I am more concerned about the headlights cracking for whatever reason...does anyone have vinyl headlight protectors installed w/o the above mentioned problems?

There are a few threads where people talk about these problems and I was wondering if they are brand specific.

i have 3m on my 95 acura integra. the film has been on the headlights
since2001. the film has kind off faded the lense has not cracked. fog lights tend to crack they produce to much heat.hid lights also run cooler you will have no lense cracking problems

Thanks man! Do you think it would matter which brand of vinyl...or are they all pretty much the same? I am leaning towards Lamin-X since I like a particular tint.
