I've noticed more squeaks and rattles than I think a 50K Honda should have too...

One drove me nuts all the way to Vancouver and back, but now it seems to be gone.

Something for the service dept. to find next time it's in.

I find that Hondas aren't all that bad when it comes to squeaks and rattles. Try driving a used Boxster or SLK and that will give you a taste of what bad squeaks and rattles really sound like.

HondaGal - i too have the unfortunate low idle , but mine's even worse as my car stalls intermittently. I may be getting my map sensor replaced in the coming days. But I'll post as to what my dealer actually does. Whatever you do, let it die on you so it can build some resistance. Then when you park, pop the hood , unplug the map sensor and give it a whack and you should be fine.

As for the squeak , Dave take it away

I don't think she'll want me to tear her dash completely apart looking for that little rascal.

I have my car booked in tomorrow for the map sensor.. hehe, I told the service tech, I am no mechanic but the map sensor is causing me issues. I explained the shuddering and low idle. He said, oh it can't be the map sensor we have not had any complaints about it. I said, no, hmm.. how many S2000's come in for service at all. He said good point, can you leave the car with us? I said no. He said we are busy.. I said well then I can book the car in somewhere else (their competition) WE shall see... with my luck, it is the map sensor, and those dweebs won't have one in stock..

This could be the seat belt retractor. If you have an early model car, I think there was a recall on this.

I started getting that "shudder" yesterday when it was 35! I thoguht the car would stall for sure when i had one tick left on the tach.

Anyhow, it felt kinda embarassing as i went over speed bumps and stops at the mall cuz it sounded like the car was gonna stall? lol ....its bad enough i get the occasional 1-2 grind but imagine getting both on the same strip of road with ppl checking out your ride? hahaha.......mind you, I havnt had the 1-2 grind all day yesterday so im pretty happy about that

.....as far as the rattle behind the left shoulder?...nope dont have it but i do have one with the top up. I found the rattle to be the left latch on the top....it comes and it goes though. I hear it more in colder weather than warm.

Honda said the car checked out according to their diagnotics. They said it could be some air regulator module located near the manifold. They said because it was so hot that it may be more noticeable. They said to monitor it in cooler weather.
