Where was this taken? I would go and spray paint the lens!

Asif can probably correct me if I'm wrong, but in Alberta there has to be someone operating the camera.

I got busted in Sherwood Park. Got the photo radar speeding ticket in the mail yesterday.

Grrr...I never speed in the city. It was in an unfamiliar town and I thought the freeway speed limit was 80 but it was 70.

I hear Edmonton is really bad for photo radar.

No shit it's bad up there. My sister's car is registered in my name for tax purposes, and I continually get letters in the mail from the Edmonton Police Service. 19km/hr over is worth $120 today.

Chris.

Unfortunately not a joke. That said, it is not something that agencies in Alberta have implemented....yet. As far as Dylan's question is concerned, someone does not have to man the cameras in order to successfully convict motorists. Besides, who but only a small copper my size would fit into one of those? The technology is widespread in the UK, and indeed, unmanned speed cameras are the norm there, and have been for almost 10 years now.

Yeah, I guess case in point would be the un-manned red light cameras in Calgary. Even Asif wouldn't fit in one of those white boxes mounted up on a poll.

Haha, I had hope they had to be manned. Oh well, at least we don't receive demerits.

In the UK you do. Most cameras there are sharp enough to capture a picture of the driver as well.
