Default Leasing a different car UPDATED

I was wondering if it is possible to move from one lease to a different manufacturer. Is there a way to trade in,

UPDATED INFORMATION:

I would appreciate all input and I am willing to accept any negative comments, not much else can hurt me

It is extremely a long read it is timelines and who said what, it is not gramatically correct, but I will be working from this to develop a formal complaint to BMW Canada.

On June 18, 2006 I took my Imola Red 2006 BMW in to Regina BMW for service. The check engine light was on and the outside temperature reading was incorrect. I dropped in to the dealership to see if the service staff would be able to diagnose the problem. I introduced myself since I hadn

Yeah, use a broker. One of the guys at my office just used one.

They deal with multiple manufacturers and financial institutions and can shift things around amongst their own customers.

Not getting rid of your S are you?

No I am up to my max patience regarding the bmw. I have a 3 year lease, and at 13months into it. Had a huge issue yesterday at the dealership and I no longer want this car and can not deal with the asshole dealership. That is a whole other thread. I haven't calmed down yet to get my thoughts straight to write everything down.

I don't know anything about leases and probably made the biggest mistake ever in leasing this car. If there is a way for me to slide over to another car somehow with out losing my shirt and needing to take the bus for the rest of my life I need to do what I can to remove this stress from my life.
The big issues this dealership is owned by a certain group, who also owns a bmw dealership in calgary. They own 11 dealerships in Regina. My only option is Mazda, Ford GM lexus, Toyota or VW

I would definitely look into a broker and would be happy to pass along your contact info to him if you like and see if he can help you. Only catch again is that he's in Ontario, but it might not be a bad thing because my buddy at my office here is saving over 4K just by going through him. We just picked up his alberta plates today, so when Hansen's delivers it this week he'll slap em on and he's good to go.

And no, you won't have to pay Ontario tax, in case you're wondering.

Let me know if you're interested.

Just chill for a bit Shell and let the whole thing sink in. The dealer tried to pull a fast one and got caught. It happens all the time. The saving grace is that they figured out they can't pull this shit with you, and I would doubt they'll try it again.

That aside, go into Lexus, tell them what you're up against and see what they say.

13 months in though, I can almost gaurantee you're going to take a hit.

I probably would ride it out a little longer untill you get on the right side of it. My experience with my BMW was craptacular.. I won't own an X5 ever again. But your car is still new, there is only so many things that can go wrong with it, and if it does, the warranty will be there.

Sadly you just have to deal with asshole along the way.. but the bigger asshole always wins.. so don't take any shit from them.

pickets, news casts, lots of things you can do to make thier life difficult, and if they think you'll do it, they'll just get your car fixed and get you out the door as fast as possible.

It's a sad world when dealers try to take advantage of you just becuase you're hot.. Hot chicks can have brains too

HAHA.. hot, ya far from it, remember lumberjack

I am glad, that my mom was there, I asked her to swing by to pick me up because I figured I wouldn't be picking up the vehicle. I know mommy's girl! but glad I had a witness.

I was pricing out a RWD 250 and with the trade in lease calculator I am looking at 39K, now I owe that now anyways, so ultimately I guess I can't just slide over and realize no out of pocket money, but I wonder how close I could get.

I would love the AWD, but that looks out of the picture..

Maybe I will chill. It just peed me off to know end. I was having chest pains.. not healthy

First off, sorry to hear about what happened to you. That is one reason I would never own a BMW, crappy service is one thing especially here in Calgary as I've seen too many techs being irresponsible with customer vehicles. Second being the warranty, they always try and find a way to screw you. But I'm sure you've already figured that much. But again, sorry to hear about what happened and hope something will work out for you in the end.

IS250 AWD owner here, I love the car to death and wouldn't trade it for a 250 RWD or 350. I've witnessed 250RWD and 350 stuck in snow or can't climb up a icy slope, I couldn't determine what tires they were running during the time but was very glad that my AWD went everywhere without a problem with crappy OEM all-seasons. Also, lowered 2" and I still never had a problem. I would also consider the G35x as it has better performance and handling capabilities than the 250AWD. It is totally up to you in the end, give the cars a test drive for sure before you decide.

Now for the trade-in before lease is up. I've asked dealerships before and actually got a pricing done as well if I were to trade-in a car that the lease wasn't completed. Basically they will buy out the car for black-book value or what they think the car is worth. They then take the money and to pay off your current lease (BMW in this case). There could be owing, there could also be extra money left over. If you still owe money on the current lease after using the car's value to pay it, they will take whatever you still owe and transfer it onto your new lease. But if the car's value is higher than what you owe, then they take the extra money and credit you for it on your new lease, usually in the form of a down payment. I hope that makes sense. In most cases, you end up owing money on your current lease. There are rare times where you come out with extra money and can put it towards the down payment for the new lease, but that's usually if you have VERY low KM for how old the car is.
