I scoured each corner of the country to find every S2000 for sale on the autotrader.ca site and found nearly 50 cars for sale from coast to coast. There are some great deals out there and a few cars which are hugely overpriced. There was an 01' with less than 8000 KM for just over $37,000, a few 60,000 KM + cars for under $30K. A few salvage cars as well (one for $17,000). I wonder if the S2000 motor could be fitted within the confines of a Civic or Integra's engine bay ? Anyone know ? I know from all the VW's I have owned, most of their engines are as interchangeable as Mr. Potatohead's pieces. Regards, Brady

The engine would fit no problem (Prelude H22A motors regularily find their way into Civics). The problem is the transmission... it isn't mounted the traditional Honda way.

To add, the entire engine is mounted longitudinally. It would be a buger to get the motor to mate up to a FWD transmission ala Integra or Civic style. That or make the Civic RWD. Yikes!

Lucky for the VW crowd, all A1, A2 and A3 models are FWD which takes the mystery out of swapping engines and trannys.

As an aside, where is this '01 w/ 8000KM for $37K?

I never considered that, I am sure there is a way around it (at what cost ??) I know of a Focus (In the USA) that was converted to RWD and given V8 power. Asif, the car is in Quebec, I checked the trader again today and also found two seperate white 03's both with 6000 KM. One is $35,995 !!! the other $38,900 !! Two different phone numbers as well. That is unbelievable !! Also an 01' Spa Yellow pictured with hardtop with 24,680 KM for $37,900. There is also another Spa Yellow with a terrible bodykit and rear wing (personifies "riced out", you got to see it) Check them out under the Laurentides, Lanaudiere, Maurice-Bois-Francs section at Autotrader.ca. Search outside of Ontario. Lot's of good deals out there, particularily Quebec. Regards, Brady

There is quite the selection of S2000's with all ranges in kms and price in Ont/Quebec. I'm curious to how many owners out there winter drive their S?

If you really want to make it work, your best option is to put the S2000 motor in a Civic hatchback (92-00), with an HA Sport mounting kit (probably somewhat custom, although it may be similar to a K series)... and then use the transmission from an RSX Type S or [DC5] Integra Type R... but it'll need a custom bell housing.

The best option would be to simply use the K20A2 motor from the RSX Type S, and its tranny. That motor has much more potential than the F20C/F22C.

I think the main reason for the diminishing value of used S2ks is because of the appreciation in our Canadian dollar. The marketplace for year old cars is a North American one and not just a Canadian one. Basically, if you can purchase an S2k south of the border for $25 USD (approx $34K CAD), how can a Canadian expect much more than that in Canada?
