Default My car just about died tonight

So a buddy of mine and I decide to go for a drive in my car. Backing out of the driveway, I stall at the bottom (I have to go so slow so that I don't scrape, this is the first time I've stalled though). I'm like bah, guess I can't drive. So I go to start the car back up, it wont turn over. I'm like wow, this isn't cool. So I turn off the HID's, take the key out, wait a couple of seconds. Then I put the key back in, try to start it, still wont turn over.

Third time I put the gas pedal down a bit (I know this shouldn't even be done/neccessary on a fuel injected car)... car barely starts, sputters quite a bit, so I give it some gas to hold the revs at about 2,000... after 10 seconds, I let off the gas, let the car idle, it sounds fine...

basically, the point of all my rambling is I'm wondering what could have caused this?

-Water in the intake/engine (I do have a CAI, and I've always said I don't see how you could injest water, so maybe my theories are coming back to bite me in the ass?)
-Weather changes (ECU didn't like a 10 degree change in weather since the last time I drove the car ?)

Can't think of what else it could be!

When you say it "didn't turn over", this to me, means that when you hit the start button, NO CRANKING, NO NOISE, NO NOTHING! Is this what you meant or did it actually crank but did not start well? Because if it "does not crank", it will NOT even "barely" start - your engine does NOT turn over.
If it cranked, then did it crank at more or less the same speed as usual but just did not fire.
I'm trying to determine if you have an issue with the starter motor or an issue with the car's electronics or both.

Hmm, there hasn't been heavy rain for a while so don't think the CAI was causing it. Xviper's questions will tell us more about that condition.

Sorry, I should have said "it was trying to start, but simply wouldn't go past the 'cranking' point"

I'm not good at describing these things

Anyhow, I'm not too worried, car is fine... I guess I just found it odd.

I'm guessing it was a momentary "ignition" problem or "fuel" problem.
I would suggest that since you did not get a CEL, you should just go ahead and do a quick ECU reset. Won't hurt. Also, give the old MAP sensor the "whack job".
