Well I started out with a CBR125R to learn on but definately this bike was not enough. It is so easy to learn on but seriously lacked enough power. If I had to do it again I wouldn't have bought this bike. It is great for 5'0" girls since they really look cute on them but not for 5'9" guys. The 125R lacked power to get out of situations or positioning yourself on the roads, if you're going 70km or 80km and need to move more, forget it, you're done. I am actually dissappointed that the hype of the 125R got to me, I should have just got beater 500 or 600 to start.
Regardless, here is the big brother that has joined lil brother in my garage.
07' CBR600RR. So far it is just awesome, so smooth and for a RaceReady bike it is great on the street as well. No more getting left behind by 1000cc bikes, now I can enjoy riding without trying play catch up or looking like a gorilla on a tricyle. =)
i was considering the 125r as well. i ended up just buying an older gsxr for less money than a 125 and then selling it for more than what i paid for it a week later. now i ride a f4i!!
check out edmontonsportriderz.com if you havent already done so! i am sad to say that i sold my s2000 for a bike. but that extra 6000 rpm is worth it
Congrats on the new bike! I kind of suspected this might happen to some people...aside from my tiny little ex who has one, I couldn't see many guys feeling comfortable having this as their primary bike.
I suspect the pricing on the 600 was a little less enticing than the 125 though
