I have the same dilemma as you, actually, regarding Cayman S vs nicely used 997S. The Cayman is lighter and more agile, which I like. The 997 is quicker, more powerful, has more cachet and offers more room inside as well. I'd really like a GT3, though, and even 996 GT3s are pretty pricey (at least as much as a nice 997S, usually a bit more) and so I might hold out for something like that. Otherwise, a Cayman S isn't so powerful as to get me in trouble, it has pretty low running costs (for a Porsche) and the 2013 can be optioned with an LSD, which is a must for me. It'd be a nice summer car, even if I can't drop the top. The Boxster S looks much better now but after seeing the Cayman, I just ended up dismissing it. I do love convertibles, though.....
By the way, you were allowed inside to look at the Porsches - you just had to ask.
My brother is looking for a C63 in the next little while. Great looks, great sound, very quick - hard to go wrong! That motor has been pretty reliable as well.
I can tell the Astons apart, but not from a distance and not very quickly, except possibly the Vantage (it's smaller/squatter). If one drove by quickly, I'd probably not have a clue which one it was.

Heh, my car's Silverstone, and has the big red Stoptechs up front. I live in Capilano and work in the Park, so I'm always on Baseline. I usually head into work about 8:30, and don't leave typically until about 6:00ish, so if you see an S2000 in between those hours on Baseline it's probably not me, unless I'm heading downtown for work.
The summer cars are coming out now, saw a blue late model Viper coupe in the Park the other day too. What a brutish car. Strangely, haven't seen that many FRS/BRZs around yet. Do people keep those as summer only cars? And more strange too, it seems that now the snow is mostly gone, I'm seeing more and more Range Rover Evoques. You'd think people would drive those year round for sure. Maybe it's just me though...
I did see the coolest rear window sticker a few weeks ago. It had a picture of a flying saucer dropping a bomb on a bunch of those stick figure people, with the comment 'No one cares about your stick figure family' or something like that. Love it.

Saw an orange AP2 driving around Chippewa Road in the Park this afternoon.
Last week, saw a lovely red 997 GT3 here in the Park too. Very loud exhaust. Love it.
Perhaps one day I will sell the S2000 to get into a 997 C2S.

There was also some crazy Le Mans type car cruising 104ave.... only thing I could think of was a Masarati MC12
