I've been burning about a litre every 1500km since it was new. Switched to synthetic at about 10k and it hasn't made any difference.

I'm sure George drives it hard......saw you heading east on Richmond Rd. a couple of weeks ago.......heard the revving!

I was in the black S going west on Richmond Rd. with the white Tire Rack sticker on the windshield (left over from the San Diego NT).

Oh yes, and I switched to synthetic after the first oil change too...btw..in case anyone wanted to know.

I also burn about 1 litre in less than 1500 Km. I followed the owner's manual during break-in period and do VTEC quite often. According to a memo from Honda Canada, they 'claim' this amount of burning is within normal limits. I have been purchasing motor oil by the case.

Still, I would not give this car up for anything out there in it's price range.

Yep...pretty hard...and with 60k+ on 'er, I haven't had a single mechanical problem with the car. (In fact, it's never been back to the dealer since the day I took delivery.) My garage may be littered with empty Mobil 1 containers, but I've NEVER had a car that's been anywhere close to this reliable...

Wondered why you had a Tire Rack windshield banner on your S Reijo...my wife commented that you looked hot...I'm hoping she was referring to your car
Well, I must say that sounds like good news to the rest of us. I, too, share that opinion with you......the car just feels totally reliable.....solid. I have found absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Hot? Must be the car......we are too buried in the car for it to be anything else!

Interesting enough, I have noticed that the car gets a lot more attention since putting that banner on there.......suppose it could also be the white lettering on the all-black car that makes it stand out even more.

I guess 3 or 4 Litres per oil interval is not uncommon. I'll go through 3 Litres per oil interval. The engine is perfectly smooth and seems as or more powerful than the first 1000kms.

I have a box full of 1L oil containers in the garage as well. I guess oil consumption is a characteristic with the S that some have to live with. Also, I would trade my S for anything in its class or price range. Short of an NSX, you can't beat the feel of the S.

It seems like my consumption has increased quite a bit. It is now about 800km/Litre. I've started an oil log with a local Honda dealer to see if this continues and what Honda Canada has to say. For sure it is not in that acceptable range of 1000km/Litre anymore.

I'll keep you guys updated.
