>>>probably somewhere in the range of 15% of all shifts are at redline>>>

After thinking about this for a while, I'm calling BS on myself...in reality, anytime there's clear road in front of me and weather and road conditions are good, I'll run it through 2 or 3 gears to redline...so in an average trip downtown and back it'll maybe see redline a dozen or more times. But that's probably something more like 5% of all shifts when you take into account the amount of time you're in traffic.

Just 'cause I'm curious, I'm going to keep track over a week of how many times I run it 9,000...I'm out of town the next couple of days, but I'll start a log in my car this Sunday...

ok.... h22a4 i just checked my oil levels.... since my last oil change..... 3000kms ago.... i have had to put in one litre in it to make it full... so im guessing maybe for every oil change i will have to put 1.5-2 liters of oil

That is what my consumption use to be near between 1.5 and 2 Litres per change. I'll have a better idea in the next couple of weeks as to what it is now to the exact mL ehhe

Any of you guys have oil catch cans installed?
I just drained my catch can. I have a vented catch can with both the PCV and front breather going to it. The other end of the PCV inlet to the intake manifold is plugged. About 100 cc of WATER fell out. The last bit was about 10 cc of oil. This has been pretty typical since I put the catch can on. Mostly water collects in the can from condensation I guess.
In the last 3500 KMs, I was down 600 cc of oil in the crankcase. I VTEC a couple times a day, but I only go out on short trips to do errands. I no longer drive to work. When I VTEC a lot, it does consume more. I am looking forward to my trip to the West Coast meet next July and the subsequent drive down to San Francisco. Will check out the oil situation on that trip.
About 54K KMs on the clock now. Still using Mobil 1 10W30. Car seems to be running very well.
ps. For those who don't know, the car is Vortech blown.

I have had oil consumption from day 1. I can hear when my oil is low, but at the same time I become more aware that my oil will be lower depending on how hard I drive the car . It is just second nature to me now. Car still drives tight and fast, always has.

I couldn't fathom an S2000 without oil consumption.

Just checked my oil yesterday at it is right at the add line with 4k on this oil change. My car has never burned any oil until now when i switched to Mobil 1. Wondering if i should switch back to some other kind of oil as i don't want my car burning oil. Why would my car start burning oil as soon as i start using Mobil 1??
