Out of Province Inspection
Hi All,
Well, I've reached another point again where I'm looking for some assistance. Again. Yes, I know, I'm becoming a burden
. getting my car to pass the out of province inspection is proving to be harder than it should be. Apparently my V2 intake is considered a "Performance Modification" which means it will not pass the out of province inspection. Clearly this is a very serious issue and they must stop all these people from coming to this province and tearing around the streets with their CAI's...ahem.
I had an appointment this morning with Midas but got there today and backed out because 1) They want to take it for a road test to test all kinds of stuff and it's raining and I don't trust them not to crash it. 2) They say it's going to fail because of the intake and the Comptech exhaust (cat-back, i put the cat on it yesterday)
Can anyone point me to someone who won't require me to ship my stock airbox from Ontario to do the test, OR does anyone have a factory airbox I could borrow for a few days to have the test completed so I can then legally reinstall my intake? I gave my stock exhaust to a fellow S2K owner in need back in Toronto before I came here so I don't even that anymore.
Man, the out of province import process is a pain in my ass...
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Emissions testing in Ontario is a pain in the ass! I actually failed on my last inspection with my old civic. I can't remember what I did to get it fixed...Ah I know, called a friend who owned a shop and had him run it because ONE category was SOOOOO close to passing, it was ridiculous and when he ran it through it actually did pass.
