Nope, I don't hate it at all. We (well, most of us anyway) who have the plastic window have learned to take care of it and have learned to live with it. At least for me, I see the advantages and disadvantages of each. If you find a really good '01, don't let the rear window discourage you from getting it, but if you can find a really good '02, then get it just because it's newer and you won't have to learn to take care of a plastic window.
Plastic window, a bit more viewing area, thought it's not as clear.
Glass window, much less viewing area, but it's clear.
Glass window, has its own defroster, so less need for a hardtop.
Plastic window, less weight.
Have a look at this thread on how to take care of it:

Read over that link real carefully, get the materials and start with the polishing and cleaning of the plastic. This, you can do on your own. It just takes a bit of effort the first time. Then, if the cling tint is worrying you a bit, I have a template that will help you cut the tint. PM me at that time and I'll see what my schedule it like.

Did you follow up with some Plexus? The plexus seems to take care of the cloudiness pretty good.

Cdn Tire had Plexus for $8. That was with the 20% off discount. The sale ended on Thurs though so it's probably back up to $10.xx.

To the best of my knowledge, Maguiar's has no product quite like Plexus. Plexus will "shine, seal and polish" plastic windows to take out the cloudiness. The only thing about Plexus is that you need to keep it away from the black material of the soft top. It will stain it white.
