Yes. As for race equipment (roll bar etc.) I'm not sure. The car I was driving had it all, but I don't think the Miatas did. I'll check.

Lapping days are just that - not race days - the only passing allowed at Race City on lapping days is on the front or back straight - not in any corner.

As for safety - you must have an approved helmet (not one from Canadian Tire) - wear your seat belt - DUH! and your top has to be up - not that it would save you from jack - it's just a rule.

Another 'must' is to take EVERYTHING that is not part of the car - OUT of the car - spare tire - jack - crap in trunk - anything that could fly around inside the car.

Bring an air pressure gauge and make sure you tires are up to the right pressures - or even a few pounds over normal if this is you first time on a track (this will make you spin sooner/easier - thereby keeping you out of trouble at higher speeds) - do this at the gas station down the street - or bring an air tank.

As for number of cars on the track - 6 to 12 is no problem - it's a big track - you just have to remember that you are not Paul Tracy and that you will have to pay for what you wreck!

Let me know the date - I will assume it will be a weekday - since all weekends were booked months ago.

Also keep in mind, show up with a full tank of fuel!!! I managed to get my mileage down to somewhere in the 8-10 mpg range that lapping day!!!

It was FUN!!!

Oh yeah, and in keeping with the original topic, Bud Park has a road course all laid out but haven't paved it yet. They've been saying they're going to for YEARS!!!

Nah, it's secure. And it only weighs about 30 lbs.

Oh, if the stuff is bolted down then you don't have to remove it. Still need a helmet

If the price is right for a half a day session, I'll be there, but I don't think we will have enough people to make the price reasonable. There is a track event on August 5, $200/person but that is all day.
