Alright, it's fast approaching (1 week).

Anyone local to Regina know where we want to meet? If we can't get a place figured out, I'm just going to have everyone meet at my mattress mattress store there (Victoria Ave East)

Getting hotels will be tough to no go because of the Canada games. As for meeting, wascana park is nice this time of year, but then that could be busy with game stuff.

I forgot about the canada games! Probably want to keep to meeting somewhere more commercial. if everyone wants to do a group drive, is there anywhere we can go outside of regina?

I stand to be corrected, but, no, not really any good drives - at least certainly not like what is available in the mountain/foothill areas.

There's a couple drives into the "valley" that would be no worse than the drive at the Run to the Hat meet a couple years back.

Is this thing still on for the weekend?

Well, I'm coming regardless. I have some other stuff to do out there too.

Can you let me know on a good place for everyone to meet? Probably something easy to get to

I was just looking at a map of the area... fort qu'appelle seems to have some nice roads that run along a couple of lakes

Ft. qu'appelle is about a 45 min drive out, could loop through Pasqua Lakes, through Ft. Qu'appelle itself and back out through 56/619 - that'd likely be a 2 to 2.5 hour round trip though. It'd be about the best option for scenery.

As for meeting here, I'm not sure where the best place would be - with the Canada Summer games going on, normal suggestions, such as Wascana Park, are kind of out the window due to spectators.

Guess it would depend on what we want to do when we meet? Off for a drive? Meal? BBQ? Hangout? I suppose number of cars would impact where we could meet too...

I think that since our turnout is going to be low (5 cars maybe), and with the games going on... we need to head out of town and do that drive.

Let's meet at a tim hortons just off highway 1 on the east end of town, sometime around noon to 2 pm. we'll get everyone together and then head out to do the drive up through ft. qu'appelle.

We can eat up there, or come back into town and people can take off or we can all find a restaurant and eat. Those that aren't drinkers can take off from there, and the rest of us can go find a pub or something.

How does that sound?

As for the drive.. nice decent scenery, at least for Sask , The park is run by the prov government.

Maybe we can stop at the beach area to take some pictures and see the algae filled beach

It's on like donkey kong then!

Timmies is the best. Gotta love the english toffee coffee.

If you know of a particular tim hortons as far east as possible off highway 1, post it up and we'll all meet there. Since we're leaving the east end to do that drive, it probably makes more sense for everyone to meet there.
