Background: I have a 1st - 2nd gear grind problem that has become more frequent. Actually I've had 3 this week now. It seems like the synchro isn't working sometimes. It is also heat realated and only happens after the tranny has warmed up.

I visited the dealer today and they will do some research first and I'll follow up with that. While I was there, a honda-tech mention that there were a couple S2000s that recently had tranny rebuilds. I guess I am not the only one.

I'll keep updates on the situation here.

 

I hate to say it, but I've had 2, 1-->2 gear grinds in the last week and NEVER before. I was very surprised when it happened. I will be paying more attention to it. My car has 27,500 km's on it. I was hoping that it was driver error, but when it ground the second time, my reaction was WTF

I have had the tranny fluid changed about a month and a half ago with the OEM Honda tranny fluid.

 

it must be something to do with the weather because ive had it at LEAST 3 times in the past 3 days!....one time, it happend within 1 minute of each other....i wasnt even accelerating that fast at allll......and there is no doubt in my mind that the clutch was fully depressed (all the way down). .....my car hasnt been known to do the 1-2 grind since last year.....and i could count the number of times on one hand, that it occured last year....this year, its already happend over twice the amount! ....And on top of that, ive only had the car insured since first week of May!

....oh well, I guess we'll have to live with it

Update: I'll be taking the car in for inspection and testing on the 20th. Hopefully, the 20th will be a hot one.

the more i look at it, the more it makes me want one but I think i'd miss my 1-2 grind too much...

....i still think the S2000 sticks out more and gets noticed more than a WRX (sti)
