Default Side Grilles

Just installed the two front Grille Tech side grilles. With the AEM CAI the idea at least is to get more direct air at speed - we'll see. At least there should be more air into the engine bay. Since the filter is off to the side of the opening I don't think there should be an issue with rain etc.

Grille Tech delivered very quickly and fits reasonably well. Only issue - IMO was silver screws with my black grille. A quick trip to Cdn. Tire fixed this.

Be careful how you introduce more air into the engine bay. Air going into that opened up "fake duct" will head up and into the engine bay behind the radiator. This is where the comptech CAI and the Vortech S/C gets its air from. For intake air, this is fine but you don't want to bring too much into the engine bay in this fashion.
Note that Honda has incorporated that slanted airguide just below your hood latch mechanism. They wanted to prevent too much air going into the engine bay that doesn't get there through the radiator. If you pressurize the engine bay too much with air from a different source, your rad's efficiency will decline.
However, having said that, in our climate, you won't be encountering any difficulties to an extent that you need to worry about it.

Thanks for the advice xviper. I was aware of the pressurization issue but as you mention, was counting on our more moderate weather to work with me on this.
