Default Venting about site changes!

So folks,

Is it just me, or have the recent changes to the site resulted in the service quality becoming poorer? No contest, that since I'm only a "guest" perhaps I don't have the clout to vent my frustrations.

In any event, since the recent changes, I have found that I don't frequent the site as often, nor do I post as often as I used to (the PPD doesn't even function correctly anymore). Among other things, the unstable/sporadic functioning of PMS, the inability to search for new posts without an error message being generated, coupled with the slow response of the server has caused me to look elsewhere for other enthusiast forums.

Am I alone on this, or do others share my disappointment??

Asif

Several things:

1. There doesn't seem to be an "advanced" search function anymore where you can do a search in a specific forum for a specific user or whatever.

2. No instant e-mails notification on new PM's or topic replied to. Doesn't seem to work.

3. I get the occasional page cannot be displayed error in IE when posting.

Like you, I don't come here as often anymore.

I personally liked the look and feel of the previous S2KI version better as well!

The PM's are definitely hit and miss.
As for email notification, I have mine turned off and I am getting about a thousand emails per week. I can't even use that email address anymore.

As much as we all liked the "old" version, I think the "wake" should come to an end. It won't be back. They've invested too much already in the new version. I know that those who are spending countless hours each day trying to resolve these issues are getting frustrated and are attending to things as best they can in order of priority and importance.
I have received many comments in various ways voicing opinions on how these problems have disrupted their enjoyment of this site. I fully understand these sentiments and many of them mimic my own. I feel that at this point in time, with all that's been happening with this new version, this site will either maintain users, gain new users or loose a shitload of people in the weeks to come. It all depends on how things manifest themselves in the days and weeks to come. For many, it has reached a "stagnant" stage of opinion. They can take it or leave it. This can be a serious turning point. I hope that those who own this site realize this.

My opinion...

The guts of the site should have been upgraded, but the LOOK and FEEL should have remained constant. People don't like change and this feels like an entirely different site now.

Analogy: What happened when Coca Cola changed!!!

I think this site is going down hill and will not recover unless it reverts back to it's original form. I've stated my dislikes of this site in the past which were minor, but this renovation absolutely . The warm fuzzy, cozy feeling is gone. This site is very COLD. Some changes in life are irreversible and it looks like s2ki will become a memory when you will one day say "remember when...".

Regardless of what happens to the community, this site is a great source of information.
