Where in Edmonton can I get the 4.77 gears installed into my diff? Who would you trust?

I would get hardtop guy to do it, and get a completed diff...but the shipping costs would kill the wallet. So I want to determine if it is cheaper to pay someone to install them here in edmonton.

Any suggestions?

with 4.77's you would loose a lot of top end speed correct? For someone who track, obviously who cares, but for someone who does a lot of high way driving - would the 4.77's or 4.56's cause the engine to rev a fair bit higher at say 120 km/h then the stock gears?

I dont do a lot of high way driving, but have tossed the idea of getting 4.56's, but dont think it would make much sense with FI.

4.44 with FI is likely your best best... NA 4.77 is recommended.

i still am considering a 4.56 but everything i have read said 4.77 for na

Big difference also to keep in mind between AP1 and AP2 transmission gearing. While the final drive is the same in both the AP1 and AP2s, the first four gears in an AP2 tranny are a bit shorter, and the last two a big taller. Shorter final drive in an AP2 will feel shorter than in an AP1. There's a thread about gearing in the NA section.

I am booking a weekend in July to swap in the AP2 tranny into my car. With the 4.44s, the final drive in the first four gears is like 4.6, but in the last two, it'll be like 4.3. Should be about ideal for my tastes. I found the 4.56s a bit much (and wouldn't even want to touch 4.77s). While the 4.44s are a decent compromise with an AP1 tranny, you don't get the 'hit' like 4.56s. Meanwhile, the last two gears being a bit taller will mean cruising revs will drop a bit too. Can't argue with that. Combined with aluminum flywheel, I'm hoping for good things.

And then probably next year I'll be bored again and will get that supercharger kit...

^^ Interesting info. Just doesnt seem worth it to change my gears out with my FI then.

My car should be done mid July with SOS Stage 2. Ill let you know how I like it and maybe it will persuade you to follow suit...........or, maybe ill be bored with the car again next year and part it ou and you can buy the sc from me. haha

My car is not a daily driver...or a long distance travel car. So I am gonna gow ith the 4.77. I cant stand modded out cars, makes things so difficult. I like simple things... and to me, changeing my diff, keeps the car simple.

I just want to know where I can go to have the gears installed and done CORRECTLY.

Anyone wanna suggest a honda tech that knows what he is doing in a diff?

I'm sorry but thats just to funny, being that the only car that honda has made in 40 years rwd. I dont expect many techs to know the diff to well.

Perhaps one of the local import shops - Sumaru or Silverstone?

And technically, the NSX is a Honda product that's also RWD...
