Default World of Wheels

Has anyone been down to the Roundup Centre for this weekend's World of Wheels....I'm wondering if it is worth the trip.

I stopped going years ago. I didn't find the price of admission to be good value for what I was interested in seeing. But if you're into other people's custom cars, collector cars and bikes, then it might be worth it. I'm more of a new car kinda guy. If you go, give us a report.

The last time I went was in 1999 when I entered my Honda Prelude. I have noted a change in the show in the last few years, and don't care much for it. Besides, the show appears to be shrinking, and the admission fee hasn't changed to reflect this.

Renowned shows such as W.O.W are meant to be showcases for the merits of labour people have put into restoring, modifying and detailing their cars. Instead, in recent years, the show, and I refer here specifically to the heightened increase in imports has changed; whereupon it is nothing more than a competition of the Joneses as to who can out do who with the most expensive bolt on mods. No one save the judges care about how meticulously detailed a car is, and if one were to look at shows like the Pebble Beach Concours d'elegance, it is this aspect of car show culture which is the essence of such big dollar events.

Just my 2c!

Cheers
Asif

From what I've been hearing this year, people have just been bashing it left, right and centre

My roommate works for Quinn Security, but he refused to even get involved in this one, haha.

Well....the WOW was ok...worth $11 ??? There weren't many cars that I would like to drive home in. Not a single S2000....I was kinda surprised by that. I was hoping to get some ideas on rims for the summer...oh well. I'm a bit old and behind the times so I was pretty impressed with some of the in car video/DVD set ups. Although I would be more interested in them for my kids in the back of the truck!
