WTH is THIS?!
Some guy on V8less just wrote this ..."Gary: you said Honda has no Power, yet you like the S2000? not saying S2k are bad, but it really has no power, try shifting at 9000 rpm and you still can't spin your tires, some small mods on a type r can beat a S2 no problem, don't take me wrong s2000r, I didn't say your car is bad, I like it alot, but still, I wouldn't dare to say it has power."
Fine, u know, i'll admit that the S has relatively no power in the lower rpm range....and very little torque as compared to most sportscars.....BUT I cannot beleive a few "small" mods to a Type R can beat an S2ooo "no problem"....No PROBLEM? gimme a fricken break......
also....."woudlnt dare to say it has power?" ....its got more power than a TYPE R, even with the "small mods".....I dont have facts but i dont think a few small mods'll make up the 45 hp difference, IMO.

Don't worry about it. Whoever purchased this car for straight-line performance purchased the wrong car.
But no, a Type R would need a fair bit of bolt ons to match the S2000. I know for a fact, since I had an RSX Type S, and it was very even with the DC2 Type R in a straight line..
the RSX runs S2000 times w/ Hondata ECU, Intake, Exhaust, and a set of very good tires. That'd cost about $3500 Canadian tho.

'Round the twisties, it would be all about driver, even in stock form. I'm taking another race school soon (NASCC's ice race school.) I learned a great deal last year!
The guy who owned my old R before I bought it dusted an NSX, M roadster and a '00 Vette on a racecourse (Using the aforementioned Type R.) As I say, it's all about the driver when it's not just a straight line!
BTW, I'm no relation to the Gary referred to on that thread!!! (Just wanted to make that clear...
