Default Jack recommendations

Nice to meet a few of you last Tuesday and Dave and Busters.

I'm looking for new jack for my S -- the old one for my civic won't fit underneath. Any suggestions?

I just use one from Harbor Freight. Mine is not lowered yet though.

Daniel - Good to meet you last week at Dave and Busters!! I don't have any recommendations for a jack though.

What happened to the OEM one? I have an extra one from a Toyota that I use when I need to raise both sides of the car.

You might also check ebay. Here is one for a CRX that looks like it may work.

Good luck!

this works
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...id=00950240000

on the s2000, with the above jack, if the front is up first there is no hope of getting a floor jack under the back. i usally jack the car from the side and put stands front / back for that side. the cost of the sears jack is low enough you could buy (2) of them and setup one on the back, do the front onto stands and then do the back with the setup one.

-on s2ki i saw a jack that was somewhat lower but it cost $300 + shipping.
-the harbor freight jacks are lower but have less travel and with anything from that store reliability is very low.
-get stands from harbor freight
-like any hydralic thingy you can get air in a floor jack and it will need to blead.

Maybe I misunderstood the question. I aSSumed he was asking about a normal jack that you carry in the vehicle. Perhaps he meant a home-shop floor jack. My old Sears floor jack will not fit under my S2000 unless I first raise it about an inch with a scissor jack.

The harbor freight aluminum race jacks work great, and are a bargain.

If you lower your car, however, you will still likely need some 2x4 or 2x6 boards with a 45 degree angle cut on the end to use as ramps before jacking.

Harbor freight has opened up a bunch of retail locations around Colorado as well...
