Default Adhesive on paint?

I just bought a used 2007 S2000 and just below the left side marker (just in front of the driver's door) is what looks like adhesive. It *looks* like someone glued the side marker back on the car and got sloppy with the adhesive.

Any idea how I could get this off without damaging the car's finish? I can post pictures later if that would help.

Most likely what has happened, is.....Someone removed the side-marker, and broke the "Tab" off, that holds it in....Very common, and very easy to do !!!! Then they tried to glue the marker back on, because they apparently had a clear, or smoked marker on it, during their ownership....anyway, back on subject...Just use WD-40, to remove the adhesive. It will not hurt the paint. Then clean with alcohol, and wax as usual......You may want to check the marker light...If the tab is broken-off...It will surely fall out, sooner or later....

When I glued my OEM passenger-side marker back on, I only needed a small spot of trim adhesive on the leading-edge of the marker where the broken tab had been.

Well the good news is that WD40 didn't damage the finish. The bad news is that it did very little to help remove the adhesive. I think it improved it somewhat, but it's still very noticeable.

Depends on the type of adhesive I suppose. Throw a picture up.

Could also try using Goo-Gone.

3-m remover from a auto part store like napa. Use it all the time on all types and conditions of auto paint.

if you're talking about 3m double sided tape , you can use a kind of eraser that you put on the drill Work very well !

if it's only a type of glue , go buy a solvent done for this kind of glue
