Finally some has the right answer! Yes in the first OP post he is showing a Sebring Silver car with a Silverstone front fender. The other "mystery" is a 2003 Silverstone (i.e. The return of the real Silverstone) and a 2007 Chicane Silver car.

Dark Grey= Chicane
Light Grey = Sebring
Medium Grey Metallic = The one and only Silverstone Metallic

Utah

Also note that silver will look different colors from aluminium and plastic as the base. The different bases produce different shades of grey.

Yes there are actual different silver colors for the S throughout the years, but Silverstone still has a few different variations as mentioned above. It is a difficult color to match. and part of the problem does stem from what DeeKay just mentioned too.

There is no primer.

P.S. While there is minor variation in NH530M you would need a photometer to detect it (variations in color, tone, hue, or reflectivity). Folks here who believe otherwise are just wrong. Sorry. There is an entire science to color matching and trust me Honda has it down.

Variations are most likely due to a lot of time in the sun. Metallics get lighter as they age, extreme examples are something like an old gold Camry that turns almost silver with a lot of sun exposure.

Either than or it's a bad repaint. The photo of the one with dark fenders and light doors is an expample of that.

The chances of it being a big variation from Honda are slim. If that were the case customers would complain that their Honda front lips and rear spoilers didn't match.
