I had a '95 Acura Integra GS-R that was Granada Black Pearl. It had the blue specs in it that you described. (I can't really tell from your picture quality if that is it or not).
Anyway, I also have a BB S2k now and it is definitely not a metallic or pearl...just black.

Before putting the OP into a panic making him think his Berlina was repainted, why not just tell him to go look at another Berlina and compare the two?

Honda does not have a perfectly black black, there is a bit of a flake or spec in it. It might not be what some would call a metallic flake, but it sure is helll not a perfect black like Caddy has.

The OP may be seeing this spec which is in every Berlina I have ever seen, and there i s no way every black S I have seen has been repainted............

Zero flake/texture on my 2000 BB.
Certainly nothing like in the OP's photo.

Yep and my hardtop is painted Berlina, it's just black, nothing else! The OP already showed pics of his and it clearly has blue pearl or metallic in it, if people are still going to say it's not re-painted and it is Berlina is crazy.

Yes my car has been repainted. My painter confirmed this. Now he just has to match the paint......

We are pretty sure it is NightHawk Black Pearl

When I dropped my hardtop off I gave them the OEM paint code for Berlina Black which is NH-547, when I went to install the top I noticed it didnt match...... We decided it was both our fault and he is agreeing to reshoot for just the cost of extra materials, which I am happy with.

I'll post up some better pics of the whole car when finished.

There are many variations of "Nighthawk Black" used in Honda/Acura vehicles. All that I have ever painted have a bluish to purplish flake in it. My BB has no flake whatsoever. There is a noticeable difference between the two. I've seen a RSX on a used car with the front bumper resprayed straight black and it stood out, it would be impossible to miss.

No there is only one Nighthawk Black. There are many Black finishes that are similar:

Flamenco Black Pearl
Nighthawk Black Pearl
Crystal Plack Pearl

All look very Similar, with differences being prescence of gold or silver flakes, or a more blue or more purple biased effect.

My 2000 Si was Flamenco Black, but I had a spoiler get acidentally painted Nighawk Black and really only a PPG employee could probably tell the difference.

Hate to bring up an old thread, but I dont want people being misinformed by everyone who thinks BB is just "flat".. BB definitely has a little bit of flake in it. This is coming from guy who went through a HUGE headache of color matching with a paint shop and tons of detailed pics and comparisons with other BB s2's including a an 08 CR that has never been in an accident or ever needed something painted. Also, I did note a VERY VAGUE hint of blue shade in BB when held to a halogen light, as confirmed with the CR as well.
Other than that, when looking at a BB paint job without examining closely it does indeed just look like glossy flat black shade.
Hope this helps
