Bumper Plug/Tag Plug hardware HELP/Q?
Does anyone know the hardware # or part # for the hardware that physically holds the plugs in the bumper?
I have ordered the bumper plugs, I thought they would have been pressed in and pop in place. The clips are actually much smaller than the holes in the bumper. I can't find the part needed to hold them in place on the honda diagrams.
Thanks,
Greg@GO-AUTOWORKS

Everything popped right into place other than the bumper plugs. The inserts were just too small for the holes (my bumpers are also new OEM Honda bumpers. I do know that the plugs for the 96-00 Civic pop right in (have owned 2)

There's a thread on s200.orf where someone says they baought a pair seperate from Honda when they bought the tag plugs. These inserts fit into the bumper from the backside.

Does #36,NUT, CLIP (6MM) seem like the insert? I believe it's a metal threaded insert your looking for that fits the inside of the bumper.
The only other thing would be to go to a dealer and source out the part through them.

If it sat snug and the "tips" fit perfectly and just stuck out from the backside of the bumper, then I could see it just beeing a license plate nut to just tighten it down.
The thing is, the hole is larger. Just like the emblem hole in the trunk is larger than the tips/pegs on the back of the emblem. There are inserts in the trunk hole that center it and hold it in place.

Sure, I'll post a pic.
You can't really call the Honda parts counter on a situation like this. If its not on that parts picture, then they can't help. What I did do is send Chris a text (the genius I know that works @ Honda and is a mod on here I think). He confirmed that there is a clip that goes on the back of the bumper to hold the tag blockoff.
So, I went and drug my old ap1 bumper off the shelf to loo at the backside (this bumper had the holes filled by some shoddy bodyshop...though that particular part came out well
One of the clips was still stock to the back of the bumper, just barely.
It is a small "goldish" clip, held to the back of the bumper by 2 nipples that it slips on to. This rectangular piece has 2 holes in it that line up with the bumper holes. When you push the bumper plug in, the flared tip on the back of the bumper plug will clip into the holes on the gold piece...locked in.
I still have no clue as to what the part # is, but. I'll post a pic to help anyone else that may come across this in the future.
