Default Crashed my S2k! Opinions, please.

So yesterday I had the worst day of my life.

Before I realized my s2k was spinning and I had the bad luck of hitting a pole.

The carshop guy said I was lucky that it's completely repairable and it will be the same.

But is that true? Is it really possible to be the same car again 100%?

I'm worry because this is my every day car and I want it for track days too.

Let me know what you guys think.

I would bet the wheel base is considerably shorter on that side. If that were my car, after it came out of the shop, I would sell it. Prolly not what you wanted to hear......... sorry

^ Yeah I agree, once its fixed sell it. Those body shop guys will repair practically any car to make $. Besides its their job, I have seen body shops hack up frame rails and weld them straight on exotic cars and as well as passenger cars. If the car means a lot to you then fix it and keep it. I have know people in the past where their car has become a sentimental value and they have replaced 1/4 panels and frames pulled from the accidents just to keep the car intact. Once the frame is tweaked its hard to bring it back to shape because even the unaffected area of the frame is tweaked.

Anything can be fixed. I have seen insane thingd fixed at a friends shop
But do you have full coverage? Just let them total it out an find a better one.
Gonna be some work involved for sure and not a cheap one

Right body shop and you would never know. I have fixed way worse it just takes lots of time good measuring system and frame rack but with all that being said let them total it! I've seen more hacked than finished right.

As everyone else said, It can definitely be fixed and if the car means a lot to you then do it! Or you could just have them total it out and take the cash and get something else.

all depends on the shop and the type of frame measuring machine they have. if you where in tampa I would suggest you take it to Kuhn Collision, they have a superior frame machine to anything I have seen anyplace in Florida

wow i hope no one was in that pass seat.

well im sure anything can be fixed for the right price, but you have to weight out of your insurance will cover it, they might just total it like mentioned.

you could always get a shell swap your vins **smile** and redo from scratch which if you want a serious serious build thats the best way to start is with a bare car, selling what isnt replaced by aftermarket, plus you could get your paint body shaved bay chromoly or w/e going.

it all depends on whats best for your budget and time.
