Default Front bumper cracks by headlight

Anyone know why ap2 bumpers tend to crease by the headlight? When I installed my ap2 bumper 2 years ago it was perfect and now it had that crease/flex right in the corner. I've heard it happens to ap1s because of the crash bar pushing up against it but I removed my crash bar so why did it happen to my bumper? I know it's not just mine because I've seen the exact same thing on other ap1s with ap2 bumpers and on real ap2s as well and it's always on the passenger side. When I push the bumper up it gets a little better but when I let it go the crease comes back almost as if the bumper is sagging. Anyone know the cause of it?

The bracket under the headlight, which the bumper tabs click into can be slightly adjusted. However yours look like someone backed into you.

So it bad alignment on the bracket? But no it wasn't that someone backed into me because it didn't just appear like that one day, it just gradually got worse and worse over a 2 year span and I would notice it getting worse every time I wash my car.

It still could have been someone backing into is and flexing the bumper slightly.

Even though you didn't initially see any cracking, the flex could have damaged the integrity of the paint and slowly overtime it began to crack. Or there is unwanted pressure causing stress in these areas.

I have the same cracks since a buddy of mine hit curb when parking the car. I had the front bumper repainted but the cracks appeared again. Since the cracks are not very visible, I will leave them as they are.

Same thing with my car. Someone probably backed into you. In my case I gently bumped the front of my garage being a bone head. This is the spot that crumples when there is impact.

my guess is from parking blocks and or the bumper scraping when u go up incline like a driveway or parking garage. stress / flex cracks.

My car has them aswell but thought was due to it being aftermarket urethane.

wonder if extra flex additive in the paint would make it last longer?

I do body work and have had a couple of s2000s of my own- no matter what I do- over time they all seem to want to crack by the headlights- next time I paint a front cover I think I am going to use one of the flexible primers and add a flex additive to the paint to see if that will solve the problem. Those bumpers seem to flex really easy at that point and all it seems to take is a little trauma that causes the bumper to flex a little bit- and it cracks. If it isn't a show car and you aren't selling it- my advice is to leave it alone and drive it unless there is another good reason to have it painted
