Default FRP vs. OEM

I was recently in a "side-swipe-spin-out-front-end" accident and the other parties insurance cut me a check. I have the option of buying an OEM bumper or buying an FRP bumper from VIS.

My question is, is there any thing I will notice going from OEM to FRP?

Durability? Prone to cracking? Personal experience? Tabs breaking?

Owned 2 FRP products on past cars: a front bumper for my Porsche 94 (OEM turbo front bumper replica) and a front air dam for my e36 M3. Distinctively less flexible than urethane, but I never had any fitment issues, cracking, or other issues. Urethane would have held up better for any unfortunate circumstances (scraping on a speed bump or whatever) but anything that would have actually destroyed the FRP would have done the same to a urethane.

Just make sure feedback is good and people compliment the quality of fitment and FRP will be fine.

i would buy OEM. in the the end, it will be more durable and be worth more than a cheap replica bumper. the replica bumper will fit like crap too.

Just picked up an OEM bumper tonight with a Mugen Rep lip. My car should be out of the body shop next week!
