Body guys is this fixable?
My dad recently was ran off of the road and hit a sign with his s2000. The driver's side was hit pretty hard and we are trying to decide whether the car is worth fixing or not. We will either buy the car back from insurance and fix it or part out what we can and move his setup into another s2000. Is this car worth fixing or will the car forever be unsafe after it is straightened out? I have not had a chance to see the car in person yet so unfortunately this is all I have to go by. There was also some minor fender, hood, and bumper damage to the front as well.
The car has already been totaled by insurance. The car is not his DD so it can sit for a while. I just need to know that if it is fixed will it be safe in the even of another accident. I can get good deals on body work so cost is not an issue. We are just trying to keep from having to buy a whole other car and swapping the entire setup over to it.

from the photo, it appears the door took the mass majority of the hit, the damage to the rocker panel/unibody doesn't look that bad to me...(looks like it may not even have gotten into the unibody main structure..) the only concern i would have is being it's all aluminum...a typical metal car i would not think twice of fixing it, i haven't deal't with the aluminum factor however so...can't say for sure. but that is also based on one photo that has a rather bad prospective.
on the buyback, if they want less than 3k for it...i'd buy it back regardless and decide what to do later. Anything can be fixed, and anything can be fixed to stronger than it was originally....(just don't decide to Learn to tig weld on this project, learn elsewhere first)...heh
