Ahh ok that makes much more sense. I thought you were referring to having PDR done when you said door ding...bad assumption on my part, sorry.

That's not PDR. PDR is paintless dent removal. They fish around inside your car with a rod or pull it with some suction cups. Not every dent can be repaired with PDR.

Not sure if your reply is directed at me or boz, but yes I am quite familiar with PDR. I had just incorrectly assumed we were talking exclusively about PDR and not actual bodywork...again, my fault. Anyway agreed - not all dings can be repaired with PDR. If they're severe enough you may run the risk of cracking the paint when pushing the dent back out. More often than not small dings caused by hail damage and such are repairable by PDR though, so hopefully the OP will luck out and not need any real bodywork.

I really hope so!

Thanks for all your comments, I am now slightly more settled, and slightly more nervous as well.
But that's life! Can't change what happened.
I'll keep everybody in this thread updated

$100 for a single panel is a ok price. We are trying to get a dent day in Socal going. One of the guy does $75/panel. The other does $65/panel. These are group prices. Normal was about $100-125.

BTW. I love your car. It's beautiful.

Back when I lived in Denver, I had a guy that would come to my house and do $50 a panel. If you had 1 dent or 10 dents on a single panel, the price was the same. I got a quote for one decent sized dent from a body shop and they wanted $75 for that one dent. My guy popped it out in the time it took me to look the other way to pick something up and then look back.

My buddies WRX had about $8k worth of hail damage a little over a year ago. MOST of it was PDR'd and you can't even tell. From the sounds of it, yours doesn't sound even remotely as bad. I thought his car was going to be totalled.
