Default Hail damage today :( Quick thoughts

So while at work I hear hail hitting the roof, and my heart drops
MY BABY!!!

Once it was gone I left and hurried home to my car port, I gave it a quick wipe down to assess the damage.

Worst ding was in my driver fender, and then I have small ones in other areas, like 3-4 on my hood, 2 on the trunk, maybe one little one on each door, and 1-2 on each quarter panel.
I can take pics if anyone would like of some.

Should I be worried at all of the car being totaled? I know there's little bits of damage pretty much all over the whole car, so that is sketchy.
I don't really know how it will all work.

04 s2k, about 112k miles, probably owe about 8k on the car.

I am really just so bummed, my car was in great condition

Have a PDR guy look at, I'm sure all the dings are reversible.

I will definitely be looking into it, thank you.
For something like this, should I go through insurance or inquire on my own?

I would inquire on your own.

I don't know how insurance works in the USA, but if I put in a claim for dent removal it would increase my premium.

When I bought my S it had a lot of small dings from the prior owner, including what looked like hail damage on the trunk. Brought it to a PDR guy who knows his stuff and he took them all out, pretty amazing. Find yourself a good PDR guy, car should be as good as (near) new, certainly not totalled.

Saying you were ripped off is an understatement.

How much you think it should've cost?

I think that's a little low. The person that hit my car with their door really nailed it, chipped paint and everything. They had to get the ding out, sand it, paint and match it up.
