pretty self explanitory, just looking for some imput on your experiences/reccomendations with different headlight restoration kits or if they are just an alltogether sham. will they give me back that rainbow reflection that i had when i first bought the car? i have 36000 miles on my 05' and have noticed that my headlights just dont "pop" like they do when i first bought the car. thanks!

I used the 3M kit on my 06. I think it was about $20 at AutoZone. Well worth it. Made them look brand new!

I used the Turtle Wax kit. I think it was around $9 and it worked great. I still have to rub a little more of the polish on the lights every 6 months, but then they look new again.

I used toothpaste, a terry cloth, windex. Then 303 protectant. Mine look great. I used a headlight restoration kit before on my civic from autozone and I was very dissappointed.

So after going with the TX Ark LA people on the Boston Mountains Tour this weekend and seeing how bad my headlights were compared to all the other Ss I just went out and bought the 3M kit from Autozone yesterday and did mine. The kit comes with 2 levels of sanding discs, a finishing disc, a buffing pad and polishing compound. The kit doesn't look like much when ya buy it but man its the real deal. My headlights look brand new, best 20 bucks I have spent on the car.

Did the kit come with sealant? After sanding and polishing out the plastic, it needs to be resealed and protected in order to last.

Ive tried both the 3M kit and Meguires kit from WalMart. Theyre both around $20. I think the Meguires kit is much better unless you have really serious fading. The 3M kit is pretty harsh with the sanding.

With the headlights I did for my friend I started with 3M on one but there was still a very very slight haze, I could only tell the difference if I held it up to my perfect condition headlights. I then tried the Meguires kit on both of them and it made them look like brand new.

They all still have the rainbow reflections. I use Plexus to clean them, then apply some Aerospace 303 with UV protection. Ill also sometimes put sealant over them when I seal the car just for good measure.

If you have mild fading just use the Meguires kit or you can try rubbing really hard with Plexus and a microfiber.

If you have serious fading do the 3M kit, then the Meguires kit over that and theyll look like new.
