Default Meguiars Headlight Restoration Kit

It seems as though this product has not been mentioned yet.

Well, Meguiars have introduced a new product lineup called, "Headlight Restoration kit." Which, I have bought and used over the weekend with my bad back.

In the past, there have been many reviews/topics on this board about using Mother Powerball Mini and Megs PlastX to solve the yellowing, scratching, and hazing problems. I've been using this method for quite some time now and realized that it's getting harder to remove the yellowing/discoloration with the Powerball mini on my 18v coldless drill.

After purchasing the Megs Headlight restoration kit, the only thing I had to say was....."WOW~!!!" It actually leveled it, removed the dreadful yellowing and oxidation issue with S2000 headlights(which I own), and it looks alot cleaner. (Sorry, I have no pics because my camera broke)

It comes with a 6 fl oz PlastX, Easy Buff Pad, and a Microfiber Towel with the amazingly affordable price of $25 or less at Autozone. Now, if you calculate that price vs the Powerball mini + PlastX, it costs less and you have a extra microfiber towel.

The simplicity of not having to wetsand the headlight like the 3M product, which was mentioned in the past, and which it took 45min to a Hour to do one headlight. With Megs headlight restoration kit, it only took me about 10min or less per headlight(add few extra minutes of masking around the headlight).

Now....on with the downsides. First time around using the product, the buffering pad leaves alot of lint which became a nuesence to clean. And to clean the pad, not just using water, I had to sort of let it dwell/soak with my P21S Total Autowash in order to dislodge the brown residual aftermath from my headlights. To let it dry, I left it outside in the sun....bad idea. It hardened like a rock, until I resoaked it with clean water.(let it dry in a hot dark place). If you were to have a high speed drill, becareful because it easily skips/hops as the instruction says to leave it flat on the surface.

I would rate this product:

8/10 overall for it's userfriendly package and simplicity.

Also, to top off the naked surface, I used Megs Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Detailer to give it some protection.

***If the PlastX doesn't cut it, I would also suggest upping the abrasives with Megs #10 and #17 with the buffering pad.***

Thanks for the review

I might have to try this on the family hauler. I usually use paint polish on headlights, but this sounds like a good product, and Meg's does make some nice stuff!
