Default How to flush boot

Hey. I'm having my boot sprayed on the 6th april and want to loose the lock and H badge before.

So what's the process in doing it? I was thinking of welding a plate behind the holes and then cut some metal to fit in the holes and weld it up. If this is correct way to go do I use same thickness metal as boot or thinner so that I can get filler over it?

If this isn't the best way please advise on the. Est route to take

I won't be doing the welding myself my friends dad to do it.

Regards. Dan

You don't need to weld anything on there. Here's a good DIY to follow

But that's for plastic. Isn't a different procedure for metal?

The two little holes behind the H badge can just be welded up. The lock hole can be done the way you were thinking. A piece of metal welded from behind and a washer or something welded to the frontside to fill the hole. If it is too thick and sticks out, you can just tap it inward with a hammer until it is just below the surface of the boot(trunk) lid. Regular body filler will finish the job.
