Badge Removal

Default Badge Removal

I'm thinking about removing the side badges. Any suggestions on method (pull straight up from one edge, try to twist it, etc.)?

I believe floss or fishing string is what's supposed to be used. You basically "cut" the glue away from the car.

use dental floss, some goo-gone, and lots of elbow grease to get the adhesive off. Its a real b**tch! Dont forget to put some masking tape around the logo to prevent damaging the paint, also allows you to put the new ones back on straight.

ALSO, please wear some gloves! I've heard MANY complaints that whatever was used to "cut" the badges off (floss, fishing line etc.)also cut their hands...use some gloves too, save your hands for those tight twisties!

Also, try to locate a product called Xenit to remove the adhesive. It works much better than Goo Gone. I found it at CAP (Consumer Auto Parts).

After badge removal with floss, a hair dryer is useful to loosen the glue which can be rolled up from the surface as it softens.
