How-to Install Spoon Style Hardtop (Need help)

Default How-to Install Spoon Style Hardtop (Need help)

I bought a used spoon hardtop and it came with brackets.. however these brackets look different than the mugen brackets i got...

does any one have any pictures or instructions for a diy on the install?

this is a spoon style but came with brackets similar to this..

Have fun! I have had this hardtop for abit over a year now and I remember installing it wasnt the quickest feat ever (an hour maybe two if your moving slow)...

The brackets you have there go all around the car;

Three in the rear basically behind the softtop frame (might be the hardest to install as you have to move the softtop up and down)

Two one the sides right after the door that installs behind the interior panelling there.

And the rest I cant remember off the top of my head (its 2:30am and Im not exactly looking at my hardtop plus its been a year)

I believe if you use the search option you can probably find a DIY walk through for installing this, if you cant I'll register to this thread and try to take pictures along with a more detailed walkthrough when I next see my car. (Its at the body shop)

so am i able to keep my soft top if i install the spoon top?

You can but the side bracket will be in the way if you try to put the top up. When installing mine we just decided to remover the soft top and all of its components.
