how much for a rear bumber repaint
Ok so I slightly backed into someone today and was wondering how much it would cost to have a bumper repainted, I'm not asking for exact amounts just ballpark. I have a 2005 s2k with yellow paint which has metallic flake. I'm also wondering how I can tell between a true scratch and just a minor scuff that can be buffed out. It appears to have rough black stuff on it, but it feels on the surface. Any help would be very much appreciated!

If the paint doesnt look like its cracked, you may be able to carefully take down the scuff by wetsanding with 2000 grit.
Be careful tho the clearcoat is thin, and you can get into the paint by sanding.
If you are able to lightly sand the scuffs out, you then need to use a buffer with polishing compound.
Goodluck.
and if you did have to have a body shop paint it, they most likely will try to tell you that you have to blend it in to the rear quarters and trunk. that can get costly.
Also, another bad note is that when paint is sprayed on plastic bumbers without fading into the quarters it sometimes appears to be a different shade.
