Default Paint chips, nicks

I recently had an encounter with some road debris at night. Not sure what it was but I think it was 18 wheeler rubber.

I have several small pits or chips to fix. Does the pen work? If you use the factory touch-up paint, can you buff it down to look good?

What do the pros do for this at a body shop?

Thanks,

Jim

in our bodyshop , it depends of the damages . But if you only got somes chips , use touch up paint and sand it with 1200 grit when it is dry , and polish it .

if there's really too much chips , you'll maybe need to re-spray your bumper .

Hope this helps !

It is not my bumper. It is a high visibility area. (Between the headlight and windscreen)

I wonder if I can wet sand the area to remove oxidation in the chip, primer touch up,paint touch up, clearcote...then polish.

Any way to do this? Is there a kit?
