Default Paint for lip

Hi everyone,

I need some advice on paint. I bought an ebay lip and plan on painting it myself. I was looking at Automotivetouchup.com. Any thoughts on this website or what the best paint would be to use on it.

Thanks

They are very good at offering OEM spec'd paint in various sizes. For a lip I would get a primer, adhesion promoter, paint and a clear in a spray can.

Great, that sounds like a plan. Thanks for the help!

Have you painted your lip? I thought using a spray can never yielded a nice final product? The clear never looks as smooth as using a real spray gun. Is this true, or have the products gotten better? I'd like a front lip as well but have held off due to needing to be painted and that being pricey at a paint shop.

I have painted a lip and various other parts using a color match rattle can and topped it with clear. If you have descent skills and patience with the rattle can you achieve a respectable finished product. To get a much better shine and more professional look, wet sand the cured clear with 2000 grit paper and polish after. You will be surprised of the final finish.
