Paint opinions
Thanks to some JERK my car will be getting painted! I woke up 2 days ago to my car covered in spray paint and keyed beyond belief! So now my problem in I am so indecisive. The car is silverstone; so I want keep it silver/grey but I want to do it a little bit darker. Im kind of thinking the cyber grey on ZR1, or Grafite Grey on EVO. Anyone got any other ideas? I have MAG BLUE RE30 wheels. Paint tuesday so give me some good colors guys!
WOW! They both look good! That cyber grey looks AWESOME! Thanks for the help guys. I picked a color but Im not sure if its working out. I am painting it "Ultra-sonic mica blue" (Lexus) color. BUT its OMNI paint and its peeling and fish eyeing BAD! I sealed the car, it didnt do it to the sealer. But as soon as I laid base it started. So I sanded it back down, primed the car which laid great; but again as soon as I laid the base it started messing up. So Im sanding the car again tonight re priming and picking up sherwin williams paint monday. HOPEFULLY IT WORKS!
seriously man.
I hate to ask you this.
But why are you using OMNI on your s2000. I could understand if you had an 89 hatchback that you were going to use as a track car.
OMNI is the lowest of the low when it comes to paint. I dont mean to upset you by telling you that the paint is complete junk, and that it is very volatile and can be quite finicky and a pain in the butt to work with, especially when it comes down to repairing anything because the paint match quality is absolutely awful.
I dont particularly care for sherwin williams either but their ultra line is better than omni.
Question, what are you using to reduce the paint ? and what did you use to clean the car with ? and also, what type of primer and sealer did you use ? and are you giving it enough time to cure and release are some things that need to be known.
hopefully you are using an activated urethane sealer and primer.
