Default Paint and resale value

So my berlina looks great in the shade, but as soon as light hits it every single rock chip shines like a herpes sore on a supermodel. Wondering how getting the front end resprayed would impact the value of the car, either positively or negatively. Some folks hold value to the "original paint" statement, others want it to just look good. I did have the rear bumper resprayed after a parked incident, but the car still has all original VIN tags.

If the rear bumper has been sprayed already then any diminished value has already been done. Generally the guys who are after all original paint are going to be out because of the repainted rear end, so you might as well have the front end done as well.

As long as it's a quality job I don't think you will have any problems with the cars value.

I agree, if everything else was original then it would be different for sure.

There are two kinda of buyers; the ones who want concours original and everyone else.

If your car isn't 110% OEM and perfect, then don't worry about a repaint or touch up as most people won't think twice about that stuff, less you're the guy who wants the car with 10k and a flawless body.

Having seen pics of your stone chipped paint, I would say that your car's value can only go up with new paint, that road rash was pretty bad. As a buyer I'd be willing to pay more for a good quality paint job, knowing that I'd be getting a better paint quality compared to the soft Honda stuff that came on the car from the factory.
