Default Pinstripe? Anyone done it?

I was watching "Rides" last night (I watch a lot of car-fix shows) and they hired a pinstriper to add detail to the car.
Seems like they ALWAYS hire a pinstripe artist on these shows, right?

The guy said, "Pin stripes make ANY car look better. A car without pin stripes is like a 3-piece suit without a tie."

Which got me thinking.

I appreciate the classic roadster look of our cars, and I'm always looking for ways to make my car look better.
A lot of photos of our cars make them look stubby but the really good photos elongate the body.
Do you guys think pin striping would look good?
Or am I just really over tired?

Ehh I honestly don't think it would look very good on our S. There is a GPW ap1 and old lady has in my town and it has a pin stripe along the side of it, and i'm not a fan. Most of the time pin stripes help on bigger vehicles because it helps fill spots in, and if you have 2-tone paint it divides it and makes it look clean. The S is already a small car and doing something like that would mess up the look imo.

Just my .02.

One of the guys local to me has a blue CR with black pinstripe. It doesn't look bad but he has a black hardtop and there's black trim on the CR lip and wing so it kinda coordinates.

personally i dont like pinstripes. a buddy of mine just bought an ap1 in suzuka blue and the car has a pinstripe that looks ugly on the car because its like a red/silver pinstripes. also i think it looks weird on s2000's compared to other cars. it doesnt hurt to try for yourself and see how you like it on your car

Thinking that his opinion might reflect the fact that he is in the pin striping business?

old school detail that is best done on older cars IMO, not something like an S2K, older American muscle cars or 1970 Caddy's and Lincolns for sure.

It might work with comparable color, nothing too bold or opposite. Its definitely something I would photo-shop first though. The lines on new cars are as accepting to stripes are old ones. I don't think its likely, but you never know.

pinstripes look good but the S is a well rounded body car. it'll make it look weird if not done right in the right spots.
