Default Polished lip question

I had my wheels powdercoated this past week and I kept the lips polished. However, while the wheels were in the oven the clear coat on the lips turned yellow. I had the guy at the shop repolish the lips and now he is leaving it up to me whether or not he should reclear the lips after he polishes them. What do you guys think? Keep them polished or clear them afterwards?

I know having them just polished will probably look better initially but will require routine maintenance to keep them in that condition, while clearing them will dull them slightly but will allow for easier maintenance. With this being said, what are your guys experiences with both? Any input will help.

Thanks

Old question but, I would re-clear coat them. I polished the wheels on my Z and I would have loved to have had them coated. The maintenance adds up.

I never cleared mine, pain in the ass to remove, and to keep from chipping. Also it yellows really overtime. Polishing after every car wash should keep its brightness and looks way better.
