This seems to be a very detailed DIY. Replacing your convertible top with a Robbins Top

Unless you have a industrial or upholstery sewing machine you won't be fixing that yourself. You will need to take it to a custom trim/ upholstery place.

I called around the San antonio area for upholstery place and they're telling me I had to get a new top. I kinda don't want to spend that kind of money on a new top. Might as well spend another few hundreds more to get a hard top u know. U think I can just glue it for now?

A robbin's top is only about $400-500 and looks just as good as OEM. only downfall is the smaller rear window

the overall price for the robbins top and installation is up to $1000. i didnt have that kind of money to spend so Instead i paid $225 to get it restitched..the sides of the window was slowly wearing out so the guy restitched the whole thing..so it's all good now..

I installed the robbins top with the glass window on my ap1 last year thanks to the DIY posted in the forums. 8 hours, no hangups, and I couldn't be happier with it. I highly recommend upgrading to oem Hardtop strikers as well. much better seal and a lot less wind noise!

00-01 tops have a zipper that allows you to replace the plastic widow section. It's the back 1/3rd of the top. You can buy it from the deler for about $200. It's still a beyotch to replace though.

i just didnt have time to replace it because it was raining and needed to get it done asap...i was actually looking at those but wasn't sure whether it was worth it or not..i noticed rain would come in on the drivers side window when i drive..i'm beginning to think it's the rubber piece...how would u go about fixing it or buying a new one maybe?
