Default Removing Side Emblem Adhesive

One of my "S2000" Badges came off and I'm looking to remove to black glue/adhesive that remains before I put my new emblem on.
Best way to go about this?

Thank you.

Tried using it..it removed the original glue but the emblem was reapplied once with some type of inferior glue that is really hard.
Kind of lost..about to call a professional detailer. Not trying to use paint thinner.

Its expensive, but 900 Pre-Kleano is amazing.

You may be able to find a smaller container for cheaper.

Mine was horrible to get off. Literally took an hour of just heating spraying with goo gone and wiping. Finally ended up just leaving it alone as I was having my car sprayed in a few weeks and it just got sanded off. The "h" emblems on the other hand popped right off with no adhesive under them.. Go figure.

I've been through this nightmare. You will NEED a heat gun. Not a blow dryer, an actual heat gun. And be warned, once you take the emblem off, you will have a hideous "s2000" shadow on your fender. I have buffed and buffed and it will not come off. Complete respray coming for me. Don't do it

I think a heat gun would make it easier. A blow dryer and fishing line got it off for me but I feel more heat would have gotten more of the adhesive off initially.

I use this, got it at OSH. No longer available in California. Test an area to make sure the clear coat is okay first.

1. Chemical Identity CAS No. 78-93-3

Methyl Ethyl Ketoneor MEK

Other Names:

Ethyl Methyl Ketone

2-Butanone

Methyl Acetone

2. Product Uses

MEK is a liquid solvent used in surface coatings, adhesives, printing inks, chemical intermediates, magnetic tapes and as dewaxing agents in lubricant base oil production. MEK also is used as a solvent for fats, oils, waxes and resins. It is a highly efficient and versatile solvent for surface coatings. Because of its effectiveness as a solvent, MEK is especially valuable in formulating high solids coatings, which help to reduce emissions from coating operations. Consumer and commercial applications include:
• Lacquers for automotive/furniture finishes

• Coatings - epoxies, urethanes, cellulosics and vinyls

• Printing inks

• Adhesives for PVC pipes

• Resin thinners and clean-up operations

• Reaction/Extraction solvent for pharmaceuticals

3M also makes a good spray adhesive remover.
