Default Repaint and Clear bumper cover

My front bumper has quite a few stone chips, so I am debating on having it repainted and then applying a clear bra. I have a friend of mine who does really good paint work, so I figured I would remove the bumper, take it to him and have it repainted. I then wanted to wait atleast 2-4 weeks to apply the clear bumper cover and reinstall.

My only worries are that the car is GPW, so any yellowing or discoloration at all will be noticeable. So I wanted to be careful not to do anything that may cause this. Also I know that the clear bras are removable without damage to the paint, but what about a repainted area?

I am just kind of looking for some advice from experts in this kind of stuff. I can and will ask my buddy what he thinks, but he is going to likely cut me a pretty good deal, so I would like to be able to give him as clear direction as possible.

I do paint and install clear bra. The color will be slightly off due to the color of the film of the clear bra only really noticeable on white especially if it's been exposed to uv rays for extended period of time even if it is a 3M product. Clear bra can be removed after application I would be weary if the area has been repainted. It depends on how the new paint is prepped and applied and cured. It should be no problem. Once you put the clear bra on and it gets scraped it will have to be removed prior to being resprayed anyway.

So you are saying if he applys the paint well and I let it cure long enough before applying the clear bra, it should be no issue should I want to remove the clear bra?

Any details on how long it needs to cure, and if there are any special procautions that should be taken when applying the paint?

if you bake it in a booth a few hours. if not needs to dry fully and not just to the touch.... I would say 2-3 weeks is good depending on the weather where you are. and you know just to spray the front bumper you will notice a difference in color. panel painting isn't good, might not be bad on a white car thou.

Should have no issue with removing clear bra after it's been baked and allowed to cure inside out. I would wait a couple weeks
