Clear Bra
Hey guys,
I have my car in the shop for a full repaint to Long Beach Blue pearl. I want to get a clear bra put on the front but I have a J's Racing Type's front bumper (look at sig) so I'm not sure if I can purchase a pre cut bra. Please advise brand and where to buy that would work best.
Thanks,
Rick

not a clear bra expert, but i would suggest that you make sure that the paint has "gassed out" before installing it... check with the paint guys and ask them how long you should wait to wax the car. that will tell you how long the gas out will take (its the same for wax as it would be for the clear bra).
It's usually about 30 days before you can install a clear bra over a freshly painted car. But you should for sure ask the paint guys.
The other thing you should do is before you get the bumper painted, take or send it off to a clear bra company so they can pattern it. It'll be a lot easier for them to do so when it is off the car. Plus, if they scratch it accidentally, you're getting it painted anyway. The rest of the car, they should already have plotted.
Some places will do custom molds for you. Others only sell it in bulk where they are pre-made. I have a friend that does this. He only does the pre made ones though. He's done some one off kits for friends though. Basically, it's just a solid sheet that he cuts right on the spot.
You'll just have to search around. Ask the body shop, they should have some leads for you, and might even work closely with a couple shops.
