Default Sell it or fix and sell?

Hey guys, I'm considering selling my CR. I've had it up for sale for a while but because it was winter it's been hard to sell locally, being from the north east. My dad backed into it the other day causing mild structural damage to the front bumper (a 2 inch dent). However, the hood and bumper will need to be repainted, and then At least one fender will need to be blended. Am I best off collecting insurance money for the damage and then selling then car as it sits for the next owner to have repaired /painted at their location of choice? Or should I have it done at a reputable body shop and then sell it repaired? I know that the "accident" that will show up on the carfax will adversely affect the cars value, but I'm thinking if i sell it before I get it fixed that potential buyers will be happy to be able to see the limited damage with their own eyes, and they can have it repaired at the place of their choice for piece of mind. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Brad

Ps. In either case, I plan to take pictures of the damage to show interested parties how insignificant the damage was.

Would you rather buy a car that needs fixing or one that has been repaired? Maybe if you were selling a beater it would be a better choice.

that is very true, i never thought of it that way. However, being that its a collectible car I didn't know if someone would prefer to get it fixed themselves so they knew exactly what they were getting. With that said vehicles with an accident on their carfax are significantly less collectible anyways. Thanks for your input!

I think if you have the "before" pics to show the buyer you'll have all the bases covered.
